A downloadable game

Farm herbs, combine them into prescriptions, and sell them to your customers in this resource management farming and strategy game.  Just make sure not to go broke--or kill too many patients.

Disclaimer: While the logic of the game takes inspiration from traditional TCM, the developer does NOT claim expertise and the depiction of herbal medicine is not intended to be 100% faithful to the field or applicable in real life.  All herbs are fictional, and any similarity to real-life plants is coincidental.

Install instructions

This download is a zip whose only top-level item should be Tiny Herb Clinic.pdx.

Wireless (usual method)

  1. Download TinyHerbClinic-1.0.zip from this page. Do not unzip it first unless sideload complains.
  2. On a computer, log in at play.date with the account that owns your Playdate.
  3. Open Account → Sideload.
  4. Upload the zip (or the Tiny Herb Clinic.pdx folder if your browser allows folders).
  5. On the Playdate, open Games / Game Library and refresh. Tiny Herb Clinic should appear.

If play.date says there is no .pdx, unzip locally. You should see Tiny Herb Clinic.pdx immediately inside the zip, not nested in another folder. Zip that .pdx folder by itself and upload again.

USB / Data Disk

  1. Unzip the download so you have the Tiny Herb Clinic.pdx folder (not the zip).
  2. Settings → System → Reboot to Data Disk (or hold Lock + Menu + Left).
  3. Copy Tiny Herb Clinic.pdx into the Playdate’s Games/ folder.
  4. Eject the disk. The game lists in the launcher (sometimes under Sideloaded).

Simulator (optional)

Install the Playdate SDK. Open Tiny Herb Clinic.pdx in Playdate Simulator. Device menu → Upload Game to Device if a Playdate is plugged in.
